KAREL FLORES

Judjes ULDC Karel

Karel Flores was born and raised in Mexico City Mexico into a family or artists. 
From very young, Karel was exposed to both acting and dancing, from forming part of every dance group in school to taking up on main roles in Mexican soap operas. 

Throughout the years, she took up on acting, jazz, Hawaiian dancing and cheerleading but these were only extracurricular activities and she never imagined actually making a career out of dance nor acting. However, not until her late years in high school that she discovered the dance that would change her life, salsa. 
Being an overachiever, Karel moved cities to be able to train with the best dance co. In Mexico "salsa con clave" directed by the world-known Víctor and Gaby. However her hunger to learn didn't stop there. 
After about 6 months, she decided to go to NYC for only a few months to try to learn as much as she could.
However, those few months turned in to now 8 years, when during her stay she was invited to join her dream dance company, Yamuleé.

MARCO FERRIGNO

Judjes ULDC Marco

Marco Ferrigno began dancing as a child in his father's footsteps who is a great lover of dance who obtained remarkable results in national and international competitions of Latin dances. Within the Latin Dances comes to represent Italy in Blackbool (UK).

In 2000 Marco entered the world devoted to the Caribbean Salsa and started dancing with the group "Barrio Latino" of Salerno.

He later choreographed for a year the group "New Dance" of Teramo achieving considerable success in several industry events.

In 2006 he joined the group of Juan Matos "Fogarete Dance Project". With this group Marco danced on the most important stages of the Latin circuit in Rome, London, Atlanta, Rio de Janeiro, Hamburg, Turkey, Barcelona, ‚Äč‚ÄčNice, Brussels, Murcia, and many more.

In January 2007 he decided to embark on his on alone paired with his dance partner Assal Arian, and now are in high demand in the most important of Italy and in the most prestigious events in the sector.

In August 2007 Marco performed in New York along with the master of masters Eddie Torres.

Since October 2006, Marco teaches in Lesmo (MI) in the school "Latin Group" Fabio and Stefania and by September 2007 it is also part of the staff teachers of the school "Latin Gem" in Milan with his dancer Haridian Benavente.

Osmar Perrones

Judjes ULDC Osmar
Osmar Perrones was born in the Dominican Republic where he was exposed to a culture which celebrates heavily with music:  Merengue, Bachata, Salves and Palo were a few of the music genres that would later help him with a new found love for music and dance.  Osmar came to the US in 1983 as a Professional Baseball player for the Cincinnati Reds, where he was molded into the athlete that he continues to be today.  He later moved to New York and started attending the night club scene.  

Kelly Lannan

Judges Kelly
Kelly Lannan has been a finalist at many World Championship Salsa events including twice at the Mayan World Salsa Championships, has represented Canada at 4 ESPN World Salsa Championships, and recently placed 4th in the World Professional Salsa Cabaret Championships at the World Latin Dance Cup. Kelly is proud to be an owner of Alberta Dancesport, Salsa Rica Productions, the Calgary International Salsa Congress, and the Rocky Mountain Dancesport Grand Prix. Kelly has been a featured choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance CANADA and has danced on the local tour stop of Dancing With The Stars. Kelly is a judge of many international Salsa events including the Global Salsa Championships at the World Salsa Summit, and trains many dancers from the student to professional level. Kelly is most proud to have the opportunity to represent her family, the dancers of Salsa Rica, and her hometown of Calgary

Eric Caty

Judges Eric

Eric has represented Canada 4 times at the World Salsa Championships where he is currently ranked 6th in the World, having placed 6th at the 2009 World Championships. Eric is a featured choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance CANADA, and was a featured dancer on the DANCING WITH THE STARS tour stop in Calgary. Eric is a former Open North American Ten-Dance Champion, and has traveled the world competing at some of the world’s most prestigious dance events including the Ohio Star Ball and the Blackpool Dance Festival. Eric coaches many of Alberta's top professional and amateur couples including some national and World Champions. Eric is the co-director of Salsa Rica Dance Company, the co-producer of the Calgary International Salsa Congress, and is a certified International Standard (Ballroom) and Latin adjudicator.

Eric began his dance training at the age of six in Montreal, and received training in the Latin and Ballroom dances from some of the world's top instructors and coaches. He moved to Calgary in 2000 to pursue a very successful professional ballroom career, and here he was introduced to Salsa in the clubs. Eric quickly fell in love with salsa because of its free and fun social style.

TITO ORTOS

Judges Tito

Ortos J. Gutiérrez Ortiz, mejor conocido por Tito Ortos, nació en Santurce el 26 de diciembre de 1974. Luego de terminar un Bachillerato en Ciencias Naturales de la Universidad de Puerto Rico y estudiar música, canto, bajo y clarinete, Tito comenzó a incursionar como bailarín de salsa por iniciativa de sus padres, ambos músicos. También se desarrollo como bailarín de otros géneros como: Jazz, Merengue, "Bomba y Plena", Rumba, Danza Moderna y Tap entre otros. Desde entonces ha visitado más de 100 ciudades alrededor del mundo ofreciendo clases y espectáculos, junto a su esposa y pareja de baile Tamara Livolsi, con quien año tras año participa en congresos de salsa alrededor del mundo. Son jurados del Salsa Open y del World Salsa Championship. Producen el Puerto Rico Hustle and Salsa Festival y son parte de la organización del Puerto Rico Salsa Congress.

TAMARA LIVOLSI

Judges Tamara

Tamara Livolsi, nacida en Argentina el 24 de febrero de 1978, pero criada en Puerto Rico, heredo de su madre el arte de bailar. Con más de 20 años de experiencia, entrenada y preparada en varias disciplinas de baile como: jazz, ballet, hip hop y otros, la convierte en una de las bailarinas y maestras más versátiles. Ha trabajado para artistas como: Luis Fonsi, David Bisbal, Manny Manuel, Ednita Nazario, Grupo Mania, Yuri y Wilkins entre otros.

Ambos han filmado varios comerciales de televisión y películas como, Dirty Dancin: Habana Nights, Yellow, El Cantante: Héctor Lavoe y American Ganter, como bailarines. También son propietarios de la academia de baile Rhythms, junto al coreógrafo Danny Lugo.

Rafael Barros, 30, and Carine Morais, 34, are the current Octa-Salsa World Champions. Championships won between 2010 and 2016, titles won at the World Salsa Open in Puerto Rico, No World Latin Dance Cup in Miami, Six Degrees Competition in Canada and World Salsa Championship in Atlanta. Championships bringing together the best professionals from Europe and the Americas. The victory puts Brazil at the center of the world salsa and makes the country an important reference for ballroom dancing.

With almost nine years of partnership, Rafael and Carine stand out for the skillful technique and musicality, but, above all, for the harmony of their dances. Required teachers and choreographers, since 2005 teach classes in the most important dance congresses in Brazil and the World. Among them are the congresses of Argentina, Italy, Guatemala, Uruguay, Chile, Australia, Portugal, Venezuela, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Suriname, Puerto Rico, Canada, Turkey, India, Panama, China, Canary Islands, Thailand, Spain, Lebanon, the United States, Greece and Switzerland.
